Sizes 6 and 4 are the same stuff as our traction wiring. Super fine stranded welding type cable, for easy routing. Sizes 10 and 8 are a high quality 600V rated automotive primary wire. Charging efficiency can be affected by wire size -- if it's getting warm, it's too small and you're wasting energy. Don't skimp!
